When I open the Medium app, clever story titles get me to click and read them every time. I know the titles are usually click bait, but click bait makes me respect the ingenuity of the author and gives me a dose of emotion before I read the story.
Have you seen the Netflix series ‘Clickbait’ ? For those who haven’t I won’t spoil it for you, but it’s a good example of the power of clickbait. As you can see in the picture from the movie below, it didn’t work out good for Nick, the main character, because crime was involved with a video that went viral because of the click bait title.
